3D Modelling
Blender
Being an artist, sometimes walking into an area just sparks an interest to re-create what you're looking at and turn it into art. Well, being a 3D artist makes you just want to create the whole scene in 3D.
This was Dublin for me. When I walked into this place, I just knew I had to re-create what I'm looking at in 3D
Let me introduce you to Dublin, a popular pub here in Bangalore, India in a hotel called ITC Windsor, which so happened to be my inspiration for this project.
This pub was designed to bring authentic Irish culture to the table, or should I say your drinks.
With a lot of blues and dark glossy woods and orange lighting, this place truly helps you take in the Irish pub ambience
When I walked in here I just knew I had to take a picture of it and re-create it in 3D when I was back home
This was then inked using a darker brush with more details added to the scene.
This provided to be the perfect starting template to use as a reference to start lining up the walls and meshes in Blender
Importing this sketch into Blender with a low opacity helps visualize the perspective
The design process was first started with a rough sketch in Photoshop using a drawing tablet to create some of the starting walls and platforms and the table
The meshes for the table and platforms and pillars and walls were created using the sketches as the reference image
The fine dark wood was used as the main texture for the main round table. This texture goes well with blue and yellow lighting.
The chairs were then modelled using cubes and textured with a lighter version of the same wood texture. The cushion was made by meshing a cube and using the sculpting tool to create an imperfect cushion shape. The object was re-meshed again to reduce the poly count.
The lamp was modelled by adjusting the edges of a sub-divisioned cylinder and extrusions. The object was textured to look like brass to add to the Irish aesthetic. A sub-surface with a yellow tint was added to the lampshade to add a glow. Point light sources were added inside the light shade to make it functional
After creating the bottles and glasses and arranging all the objects with the right lighting. The final render was made
